Our excursion will take you to the most emblematic spots in the city. The city's name reveals some of its history: Casablanca is the Hispanicized version of what was originally Casa Branca—Portuguese for “white house,” the color of the homes in the old town. Modern-day Casablanca offers a balanced mix of ancient and contemporary architecture, as reflected in the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque. Towering above the Atlantic Ocean, its 700-feet tall (210 m) minaret stands as a city landmark. Our tour will then take us to Mohammed V Square, surrounded by the Court House, Central Post Office and, the Wilaya Building. Our final stop will be the scenic La Corniche oceanfront, offering beautiful panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

We'll take a tour of the ramparts to gaze at the impressive city gates. Bab Al-Kasbah, the main and oldest tower, offers a unique view over the nearby casbah and gardens. We'll continue our trip by heading to Tiout. Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant (no alcohol served). Afterwards, you'll be free to take a stroll through the Tiout palm grove at the foot of the casbah. The lush vegetation of the gardens complements the awe-inspiring interiors decorated in a diversity of styles and techniques. We'll have a traditional lunch in a restaurant in the medina. In the afternoon, we'll take a stroll through the winding streets of the medina leading to gorgeous mosques, palaces, and gardens. Take in the sights and sounds as you walk through the colorful and lively souks filled with heady scents emanating from the food stands. We'll stop by a traditional herbalist's shop. Our last destination will be Jemaa el-Fnaa—located in the heart of the medina quarter—where musicians, fortune tellers, and snake charmers make sure you get your healthy dose of traditional entertainment.

Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, enjoys an ideal location on the Atlantic coast and an exceptional place in the country's history. As one of four Imperial Cities, Rabat brims with features so unique that the entire area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll visit the Chellah medieval fortified necropolis, built by the Marinids over the ruins of an ancient Roman colony and part of a complex that included a mosque, minaret, and royal tombs. Today, the location has departed from its original purpose and has been used as a music venue since 2005. Afterwards, we'll gaze at Hassan Tower, the minaret of an incomplete mosque and the symbol of Rabat. Commissioned near the end of the 12thcentury by Caliph Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur, the tower was intended as a minaret of what should have been the largest mosque in the western Muslim world. Construction stopped after the Caliph's death, and the minaret was left standing at a height of 140 ft (40 m). The incomplete tower, what remains of the mosque, and the modern Mausoleum of Mohammed V form an important historical and tourist complex in Rabat.
